Columbian Theatre - Show Detail

The area’s much-anticipated favorite will return to The Columbian Theatre this July during Wamego’s Summer Theatre Academy (STA). Students who have finished 4th grade through 8th grade will perform The Lion King Jr.! Disney's The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world and now you have the opportunity to see our students in this musical! The African savannah comes to life on stage with Simba, Rafiki, and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle... and back again, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.

Through this program, The Columbian’s mission is to serve as a resource for local children with a desire and passion to learn about theatre art. STA teaches responsibility, confidence, and teamwork, which are all traits that we, as an organization hope will leave a lasting impression on these young actors and actresses.

The program will have AM and PM casts. These groups will meet Monday - Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (AM Group) and 1:00 - 4:00 (PM Group)  The first day will be June 28.  More information and forms will be emailed to parents after this registration is complete.  Those forms need to be returned to the Columbian no later than June 21, 2021.  Students for this group must have completed third grade by the end of May 2021 and not have started their Freshman year in High School.  Please have the additional forms filled out and to the Columbian no later than May 24, 2021. This group will be limited to 50 students per session. The shows will take place during the last week of July; more information will come later. 

Registration is now open. The cost is $150.00 per student.
