Sister Act

AUDITIONS: Dec 8-9 @ 6:30PM

Book by Bill & Cheri Steinkellner

Music by Alan Menken

Lyrics by Glenn Slater

Performances: Feb 21-22, Feb 28 and March 1-2, & 7-9, 2025

Tony-nominated Sister Act is the feel-good musical comedy smash based upon the hit film that has audiences jumping to their feet.  When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won't be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.  Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story, Sister Act will leave audiences breathless.

Steel Magnolias

AUDITIONS: Feb 2-3 @ 6:30 PM

By Robert Harling

Directed by Bryan Scruggs

Performances: April 11-13 & 18-20, 2025

In Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser; an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a “good ole boy.” Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions.  When tragedy strikes, the sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.
